Perfectly Charlottetown Souvenirs

The Charlottetown Tartan was designed and originally crafted by the team at Northern Watters Tartan Shop, and  was recently registered with The Scottish Register of Tartans in April 2024. The tartan was designed to reflect the Charlottetown flag; incorporating the burgundy crown of Queen Charlotte & the 5 squares located in Charlottetown: Queens, Rochford, Connaught, Hillsborough, and Kings all featured on the flag; the blue represents the thriving fishing industry on PEI; and finally, the thread count correlated with Charlottetown’s incorporation year of 1855. 

Visitors and locals can pick up a variety of products in the Charlottetown Tartan including scarves, stoles, blankets, and more!

The Gahan House began as a brewpub in Downtown Charlottetown and has grown to have 6 locations across Atlantic Canada. They get their name “Gahan House” from the former resident of 126 Sydney St. – John Gahan, a prominent merchant in the 19th century. 

The Sydney Street Oatmeal Stout is a smooth, medium-bodied stout with roasted barley overtones, a hint of sweetness, and a dark creamy head. Enjoy a pint of Syndey Street Stout whilst taking in the energetic atmosphere of Sydney Street or pick up a can (or 6 😉) out of their to-go fridge!

Therefore, it makes sense that Islanders have created unique potato recipes over the years. 

Nortons Jewellers offers a wide variety of men's and women's jewellery from numerous designers and brands. Their collection includes pieces by Canadian artist Shelly Purdy, such as her beautiful PEI Lady Slipper Necklace and Earrings design.

“The Island’s rich red dirt has long been known to colour clothing. Instead of trying to get it out, why not help put it in?”  

In 1997, this island family-owned business decided to take a leap and stain clothes on purpose! And they’ve been doing it ever since. How they are made: 100% cotton shirts are placed into a mixture of well water and specially selected P.E.I. red dirt. Additional natural ingredients are then added to the basic solution to enhance colour fastness, and overtime the shirts take on the rich red hue of the Island’s soil. Finally, the products are washed and dried to perfection!

Inspired by the iconic jar of your mother's mustard pickles, this sauce brings a delightful touch of nostalgia to every bite with an added fiery kick. This family business takes pride in delivery on flavor, value and the end-to-end customer experience. Their company is 100% island operated.

Anne of Green Gables Chocolates began as a traditional chocolate shoppe that highlighted Anne of Green Gables themed handmade chocolates. Their chocolates are crafted using recipes inspired from 1908, the period when the famous L.M. Montgomery novel was published. 

Their famous Chocolate Caramels were among the first products created by this PEI famous chocolate brand.

Moonsnail is a cheerful soap shop with over 150 soap and body care products handcrafted on PEI in small batches. They only use simple, natural ingredients because “Your Body and The Planet Deserve Love”. 

Stop by to grab one of the “PEI Sand Scrub Bars”: A real Prince Edward Island specialty- with red Island beach sand for exfoliating, red clay, and locally sourced kelp swirls. Enjoy a little piece of PEI when you can’t be here!

Indigenous PEI is a not-for-profit cultural tourism organization dedicated to fostering the growth of authentic Indigenous tourism businesses and community enterprises in Epekwitk (PEI). Their vibrant space allows visitors to explore and purchase a diverse array of products crafted by Indigenous artisans and entrepreneurs including RoseWolf Creations! 

Annie Martin, also known as RoseWolf Creations, is a Mi’kmaw artisan from Millbrook First Nation, now living in Epekwitk (PEI). She specializes in pyrography and jewelry design, incorporating traditional Mi’kmaq motifs, nature, and abstract designs into her work.
