See below for a list of programs that have been put in place to support businesses following Hurricane Fiona.
Following the historic Post Tropical Storm Fiona we want to keep you informed of what supports are available to our members at this time.
We know the full restoration of power is priority and going to take time. Once restored, the cleanup and restoration of our city and our members will remain.
The Provincial Disaster Relief Program is now live. You can find details here: https://www.princeedwardisland.ca/en/service/provincial-disaster-financial-assistance-program This helps cover things that are non-insurable.
A Wage Rebate Program provides a 100 per cent wage rebate for businesses while closed due to power outage or significant physical damage which make operating impossible AND were not earning revenue. Applications will open next week and will be accepted until November 30th, 2022. This program now includes Self Employed. Clean Up Support for Municipalities & Businesses - The Special Projects Program can provide support to any municipalities that may need to hire some temporary staff to help with clean-up. Check HERE to learn more about the program.
The Hurricane Fiona Recovery Fund aims to help our local businesses and communities rebuild and recover more quickly from the impacts of Hurricane Fiona.
PEI Government did defer loan payments for Finance PEI/IIDI for the month of October to help with cash flow. https://www.princeedwardisland.ca/en/news/loan-payments-deferred-for-one-month
Debris drop-off options for post-Fiona cleanup - Island Waste Management Corporation (IWMC) will re-open all its Waste Watch Drop-Off Centres Thursday, September 29 with extended hours. For more information, visit: IWMC
