  • Letter of Approval: If your application has been approved, you will receive a letter of approval via email. Once received, work may begin.

Security Program Goals:

The program aims to help Downtown Charlottetown Inc (DCI) members protect their property, staff, and customers while enhancing safety in the Downtown Business Improvement Area (BIA).


How it works?

Grants are available exclusively to DCI members, located within the BIA. The program covers 50% of the cost of purchasing and installing outdoor security cameras, up to a maximum of $500.


How to Apply?

1. Complete the application form (link below)

2. Submit the form to the DCI office in person or via email.

3. Include a quote from your chosen contractor or supplier that shows the type and specifications of the camera.


Applications are processed on a first-come, first-served basis until the budget is exhausted.


Approval Process:

DCI will review your application and send a response once it has been assessed.


Reimbursement:

• This is a reimbursement-based program.

• After installation, submit a copy of your invoice along with “proof of payment.”

• The BIA reserves the right to inspect the installation before reimbursing you.


The Fine Print:

• Not all applications will be approved.

• Incomplete applications, missing quotes, or incorrect information will affect approval.

• Approval will be based on how well your project aligns with the program’s goals and the available funds at the time of application.

• By applying, you agree to the Terms and Conditions and will enter into an agreement with the BIA (see last page).
